Girl Scout Cookies!

After hearing about the “Great Snow Storm” that was going to hit the Midwest, I sit inside my corner bungalow and listen to the heavy rain drops hit our roof. Upon looking out my window I see the beautiful old tree’s that line the boulevard coated with ice and slick roads with no cars in sight. Tomorrow will be a fun walk to the bus-stop and commute to work…maybe my footwear should be hockey skates?? I just hope this is not another 1991 Halloween ice storm. I was trick or treating that year, so it would be a bit different this time around.

Even with the inclement weather outside my neighbor, also the sweetest girl scout, and snow cone extraordinaire came over to drop off the below little morsels. What a treat on such a cold icy night! I had to stop myself after 3. The Samoas are my favorite!

I also got two free snow cone certificates for the summer months for being a loyal customer. Last summer upon coming back from completing our wedding registry with my mom and sister in-law I saw Nick and his friend double fisting snow cones at her stand! So I will have to keep these free certificates hidden for myself otherwise I know a certain someone will be first in line with certificates in hand on opening day!

Wedding: Bridal Bag

In mist of making every little detail look beautiful I decided the bride, well ME, needed something a little special too! So I went up to my favorite fabric store Treadle Yards Goods and bought some beautiful fabric to make my über special bridal tote bag. I believe every bride should have a little something special to hold those once in a lifetime items on that very special day.

I finished this bag a few weeks before the wedding and I wanted to use it everyday after I got done. I told myself NO! that is for your wedding. It would not have been special if I didn’t stick to my ‘no-use before the wedding’ policy. The two large pockets on the sides and large main compartment now hold my sketch book and yoga items.

Tote Size: 15 wide x 17 tall

Wedding Cake Toppers

After a whirlwind 2011, I am FINALLY getting back into my site! Nick and I ended it with a bang and finally got hitched! I am beyond excited to share our ideas, how they came to life and some beautiful photos captured by J.Rau Photography.

Our Goal was to create a unique personalized experience for our guests that made them think of ‘that is SO Nick and Jess’. My vision was to design and choose items the bridal party could wear again and integrate local and organic touches as much as possible.

Here is a little glimpse at my cake toppers.  I thought it would be fun to make little “mii” characters that replicate the two of us!  Nick ALWAYS wears his Orange Black Diamond cap whenever he is on some sort of outdoor adventure and I made a miniature version of my signature blue coat.

New Wool Neckties added to Corner Bungalow

After making 9 neckties for our wedding , check out post here, and getting some requests to make additional ties mainly from Nick, my husband; I thought they would be a great addition to my little Corner Bugalow Etsy shop.  Check them out! I LOVE LOVE LOVE making items with wool, and they look just beautiful! I just opened shop a month or so ago and I am very excited to where this little journey will take me.
