Plarn!

A group of  my co-workers every Friday get together for a ‘Craft Lunch’ and bring whatever type of project we are working on and eat lunch together. The projects mainly revolve around crocheting, knitting, scrap booking, or whatever is easy to transport on the bus into work. When one of my co-workers mentioned we should “plarn” we all were intrigued.

What is Parn? Well, plarn is making yarn out of plastic bags, hence the ‘pl’ (plastic) and ‘arn’ (yarn). So for the past few lunches we have been busy making our plarn and just start to crochet a few cute items as below. The next time you get a funky color plastic bag from your favorite store, you may just think twice before you throw it in the recycle bin.

Cute Crochet Amigurumi

This was my first attempt to make amigurumi crochet toys for my nephew and niece.  They are stuffed with poly fill for softness and have a little stocking of plastic pelts inside so they sit up. They were SO fun to make and seeing their faces upon opening the boxes was delightful! They come with a lifetime guarantee for repair from auntie:)
